Just thinking...

The next person you meet in heaven

I just finished reading Mitch Albom’s new book, “The next person you meet in heaven” It is a sequel to his novel, “Five people you meet in heaven”

The novel gives us an interesting perspective about the after life. What if everything that happens in our life has a purpose behind it? What if every encounter with a person is supposed to teach us something? What if for those of us, who feel we aren’t exactly making our mark in the world, there is a purpose for your existence?

In the first book, the story is about Eddie, a guy who maintains all the rides in an amusement park who thinks his life has been meaningless, finds out after he dies, how his life had in fact touched so many people’s life. That we are not an island, but a link in the tapestry called life where we are placed exactly where we are supposed to be at any given point of time.

Talking to many of my friends, being in the so called middle age, they feel, they haven’t accomplished much except earn a living and raise a family. But what if, that was exactly what we signed up to do? What if we look back and see how many people we have in fact touched? What if the world would never be the same if we weren’t here doing exactly the thing that we are doing?

We are enough. Where we are at this point in life is enough. Make it a joyous one instead of creating misery for you and those around you!

I hope you pick up these two books and read and comment to me your take on it.
Would love to hear from you.
