We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded by news and sms and non relevant forwards. 15 minutes of silence is a great way to start or end your day. I have recently taken up the Deepak Chopra and Oprah’s meditation for 21 days and should say it is helping me a lot. I feel more centered and able to handle the stresses of daily life routine more calmly. I now catch myself when I am chewing on past events or anxious about the future. My inner voice is finally visible and I would say I am finally listening to it instead of the critic who always used to put me down. So let this year be the year when you too take the time to sit quietly and focus on your breath. Turning on some pleasant music helps too.There are umpteen number of videos on youtube to get you started. So let us stop the excuses Of saying “I have no time” “I am tired” “I don’t know how to do” and start taking baby steps this year.
Start by creating a routine where we sit down automatically for meditation after a set of morning chores or even better to do it before putting our legs down from the bed. Once we allot the time and stick to it I am sure life will start guiding you through those quiet voices which we had shut out long back.
