Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening

Whose woods these are I think I know
His house is in the village though
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake
The only other sound’s the sweep
of easy wind and downy flake

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow

The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down
by the smallest people with the smallest mind.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs

What you spent years building many be destroyed overnight

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth

Don’t Quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and debts are high,
and you want to smile but have to sigh

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must – but don’t you QUIT!

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
and many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out

Don’t give up though the phase seems slow –
You might succeed with another blow…

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt –
and you can never tell how close you are.
It many be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit
Its when things get worse that you mustn’t QUIT!

Balance balance is the key
too much of anything is not good for me

Chocolates and candies taste so good
but for me, it is not good food

Pizzas are tasty, I like to have them everyday
but my tummy protests in a very strong way

Colas and juices are so sweet
but they make cavities in my teeth

So I choose a colorful pallet everyday
and I tell my friends it is the right way

So balance balance is the key
to glow and shine and be healthy!,

Yesterday and my son had fun writing this poem. I said the first line
and he rhymed it perfectly with the second lines.

Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself! you’re divinely designed
And perfectly made for the work of mankind

This truth you must cling to through danger and pain
The heights man has reached you can also attain

Believe to the very last hour, for it’s true
That whatever you WILL you’ve been gifted to do

Believe in yourself and step out unafraid
By misgivings and doubt be not easily swayed

You’ve the right to succeed, the precision of skill
Which betokens the great, you can earn if you will !

The wisdom of ages is yours if you’ll read
But you’ve got to believe in yourself to succeed!

For you dad…

You were the one to bring life into me
And now I stand before thee
Writing a poem which is true
Not from my tongue but my heart below

When a terrible storm blew in our life
You stood strong to face the strife

When I cried you dried my tears
When I played you were there to cheer
The love and affection showered by you
Is boundless and is known by few

You work hard to give us the best
By walking through many a test

Thank You Dad for all these things
But mere words are not enough for my gratitude.

I build cements wall for the houses
But my house stands with tin sheets
I mend and shine shoes
But my slippers are worn out thin
I harvest crops for the world to eat
But my kids go to bed hungry
I wash your clothes
But I am scared if I wash mine it will shred
Who do I question about my status?
If there is one with answers let me know
I am the worker bee and my life is being squeezed out of me
Cause I have been crushed and discarded by the society that uses me.
So save me and give me hope that a
better tomorrow awaits me.
For I need to carry my frail legs to work,
Believing someone is looking out for me too.
